Last fall, NGS Printing was the first North American graphics company to obtain the industry-leading Zund D3 L-3200 cutting system. This move was further proof of our dedication to offering our clients the best digital and screen printing services.

Now, we are proud to announce we recently installed our second D3 digital cutter, allowing us to further increase our production rate.

We’re proud to announce our second D3 cutter.

Two machines for faster turnaround

“A single D3 L-3200 machine can increase production rates by up to 90 percent.”

The D3 cutter uses two independent cutting beams simultaneously instead of the standard single beam. Not only does this increase capacity, but the dual system saves both time and money – a single machine can increase production rates by up to 90 percent. The original D3 allowed us to handle higher order quantities and tighter deadlines, and our second device has increased these capacities even further.

“Because of the pressure to continually reduce turnaround times, our goal was to increase our throughput by at least 50 percent,” Owen Scheppman, Vice President of NGS Printing, told Printing News. “A year ago, we viewed the D3 as a way to get as much as twice the output from the same footprint and labor cost, and that belief has held true.”

The Zund D3 is the only finishing system capable of digital die cutting or router cutting (2) sheets or (2) parts simultaneously. Each device also features extended off-load areas and automatic board feeders, reducing the need for manual labor and helping to create a smooth production flow. This leads to savings in both time and cost, which we pass directly to our clients.

NGS Printing prides itself on investing in the latest digital printing, screen printing and finishing equipment, as well as software automation, ensuring every graphic that comes off our production line is of the highest possible quality. We print, finish and ship retail display signs, floor graphics, shelf talkers, printed panels for POP display manufacturers and many other graphics on a variety of substrates, including but not limited to: paper, foamboard, magnetic material, styrene, acrylic, PETG and static clings. Our midsize facility, conveniently located in the Midwest, ensures our customers get the quality, capacity and individual attention they deserve.
