Hopkins Plant Manager Receives Craftsman of the Year Award

COLUMBUS, OHIO (April 18, 2006) – Hopkins Printing is pleased to announce its plant manager, Terry Remaly as €œCraftsman of the Year€, awarded by The Columbus Club of Printing House Craftsmen.


The Craftsman of the Year award is presented annually by The Columbus Club of Printing House Craftsmen, in recognition of industry leadership and contributions to the craftsman who best exemplifies the ideals, spirit and standards of craftsmanship.


Remaly began his printing career in high school where he was a part of Central High School€™s vocational printing program. He also used his free time to assist in printing projects for Columbus Public Schools. Remaly later served for two years as a pressman and supervisor for the United States Air Force.


In addition, Remaly held positions as a web pressman and sheetfed pressman at Columbus Bank Note and Prestige Printing before he moved to J.F. Hopkins & Associates, now Hopkins Printing, in 1985.


In his 20 years at Hopkins Printing, Remaly has held positions as pressman, pressroom supervisor and his current position as plant manager.

Remaly has an associates degree in Graphic Arts from the Columbus Technical Institute and has been a member of the Columbus Craftsman€™s Club for 15 years, holding positions of Bulletin editor, vice president and president.  As president, Remaly initiated a giving program at Hopkins Printing for the Homeless Families Foundation. Remaly has also served as the statewide coordinator of Skills Ohio Graphic Communications program for the past five years. He spends many hours giving tours and sharing his knowledge with graphic arts students from Columbus College of Art and Design (CCAD), Columbus State University and numerous central Ohio vocational schools.
