Folding Brochure Templates

These templates have been created to eliminate folding isses. The templates below represent the most common size and types of folding brochures in the industry. Each template contains guides that illustrate panel sizes making it easy to align page content to these guides. With all content lined up, folding issues (and prepress time) can be avoided helping to keep costs low.

These templates are available in QuarkXPress and InDesign. A PDF is also available for each brochure to allow you to view the layouts and panel sizes in case a software package other than QuarkXPress or InDesign is being used.

If your brochure requires additional folds, please contact your sales representative. They can provide you with the necessary panel sizes based on your projects size and needs.

Standard Size Tri-Fold Brochure
Tri-fold brochures have 3 panels, two that are the same size and the third being slightly smaller so as to avoid “bunching up” when the third panel is folded into the brochure. Typically, the outside front and back covers are immediately visible with the smaller third panel folded inside the brochure.

Standard Size Z (Accordian) Fold Brochure
Z-fold brochures have 3 panels which are all typically the same size. The outside front and back covers are visible with the middle panel folded inside the brochure.

Standard Size Double Parallel Fold Brochure
Double Parallel brochures typically have 4 panels with the 2 outside panels being the same size and the inside panels being slightly smaller. The main front and back panels are visible after the brochure is folded. The remaining panels will be folded inside and are not visible after the brochure is folded.

Standard Size Barrel (Roll) Fold Brochure
Barrel (Roll) fold brochures commonly have 4 panels with the 2 outside panels being the same size, the 3rd panel being slightly smaller, and the 4th panel being the smallest. The main front and back panels will be visible after the brochure is folded. The remaining panels will be rolled inside and will not be visible after the brochure is folded.

Standard Size Gate Fold Brochure
Gate fold brochure commonly have 4 panels with the 2 outside panels being the same size and the 2 inside (folded) panels being slightly smaller. The outside panels will be visible while the inside panels will not after the brochure is folded.

Standard Size French Fold Brochure
French fold brochures are commonly folded twice with one horizontal fold and one vertical fold (quarter folded). This is commonly used in some types of greeting cards and invitations with some panels being left intentionally blank. A French fold could also be used to create an 8-page booklet (some extra trimming would be required).
